Responsibilities and ​Opportunities

• Support ​bare-metal ​provisioning workflows ​using PXE boot, cloud-init, ​and ​tools like ​MAAS
• Help automate testbed ​setup and ​OS ​installation pipelines ​using ​Ansible, ​shell scripts, and ​internal ​tools
• Configure on-prem servers, ​embedded ​boards, ​and PCs for ​testing
• Perform hardware ​operations ​such as ​replacing NICs, ​GPUs, ​and SSDs
• Maintain lab ​inventory, cabling, ​and network configurations
• Document operational processes and hardware setup procedures
• Collaborate with System Software engineers to improve infrastructure stability

Key Qualifications

• Basic understanding of Linux system administration (e.g., file systems, networking, systemd)
• Familiarity with server/embedded hardware components.
• Comfortable working hands-on with physical machines (assembling PCs, swapping components, etc.)
• Ability to write simple scripts (Bash, Python)
• Clear communication skills and willingness to document and share findings

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience using provisioning tools such as PXE boot, MAAS, or cloud-init
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
• Prior experience maintaining a lab, server rack, or test environment
• Understanding of BIOS/UEFI configuration and low-level system bring-up
• Knowledge of embedded systems or working with development boards
• Contributions to automation pipelines or infrastructure-as-code projects (school or personal)
• Experience collaborating via Git, JIRA, or documentation tools (e.g., Notion, Confluence)
