Job Summary

We ​are ​seeking ​a motivated ​Silicon Solutions Hardware/Software Engineer ​to ​join our ​D2D/UCIe team. In ​this role, ​you ​will be ​responsible ​for ​D2D subsystem development, ​as ​well as the ​development ​and ​management of UCIe ​IP firmware. ​You ​will collaborate ​closely with ​architecture, ​design, and validation ​teams to ​deliver efficient, high-performance D2D interfaces and support successful silicon bring-up and validation of Rebellions’ SoCs.


Responsibilities and Opportunities

  • Develop and maintain D2D IP firmware based on pre-defined firmware, including customization, integration, and optimization for Rebellions's SoC environment.
  • Analyze and evaluate the current generation Python-based test programs, extract key functional insights, and reflect them into SoC firmware implementation and validation workflows.
  • Perform D2D link bring-up and validation across all stages of the SoC development cycle, including pre-silicon (simulation, emulation) and post-silicon (EVB) environments.
  • Analyze and interpret D2D specification and IP-specific documentation to drive correct firmware behavior and link training sequences.
  • Collaborate with the architect and design part to debug and resolve link-level issues, including PHY initialization, link training, parameter exchange, and error handling.
  • Build and maintain reusable firmware infrastructure applicable to various configurations and future generations of Rebellions's SoCs.


Key Qualifications

  • 2+ years (entry-level with Master's degree) or 5+ years (experienced) of software/firmware engineering experience in embedded systems, device drivers, or system software.
  • Proficiency in C/C++/Python programming and firmware-level debugging skills.
  • Ability and willingness to study and understand hardware specifications, including D2D/UCIe, SerDes/PHY, and high-speed I/O protocols.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team spanning architecture, design, and validation.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in silicon bring-up (at least one tape-out cycle from pre-silicon to post-silicon).
  • Familiarity with high-speed interconnect protocols such as UCIe, or PCIe.
  • Knowledge of analog/PHY concepts related to high-speed SerDes (e.g., equalization, link training, eye diagram interpretation).
  • Understanding of overall silicon implementation flow and post-silicon productization flow (RTL → verification → synthesis → P&R → tape-out → bring-up → validation → characterization → qualification → production).
  • Experience with RTOS or bare-metal firmware development on ARM Cortex-A/M or RISC-V platforms.
  • Experience with hardware validation or debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzer, oscilloscope).
